Sat Jan 17th
President-Elect Obama graces our charmed city along his Whistle-Stop tour, making a speech at War Memorial Plaza in front of City Hall in Baltimore. (Doors 1PM, Event 4:15PM)
Inauguration-themed celebrations kick off at night with the Creative Alliance hosting Obama’s iPod: A Pre-Inauguration Dance Party. (Doors 8PM)

Sun Jan 18th
The big things start happening down in the nation’s capitol with We Are One: Opening Inaugural Celebration on the steps of the Lincoln Memorial featuring an all-star cast including Beyonce, Mary J. Blige, Bono, Garth Brooks, Sheryl Crow, Renee Fleming, Josh Groban, Herbie Hancock, Heather Headley, John Legend, Jennifer Nettles, John Mellencamp, Usher Raymond IV, Shakira, Bruce Springsteen, James Taylor, will.i.am, Stevie Wonder, Jamie Foxx, Martin Luther King III, Queen Latifah, Denzel Washington and yes even the President-Elect himself. Moby takes charge with a DJ set at Change? Let’s Start with Dancing… Inaugural Kick-Off Party at the 9:30 Club in DC. (Doors 12 midnight)

OMG! There is so much happening that weekend, I didn’t even know of 1/3 of this stuff. It’s nice that these artisit can come together for positive political processes and not just anti-war/anti-Bush events. Looks like a new era of positivity perhaps.
I’ve had my party blinders on though and am focused on the Deep Sugar party at Paradox.
House music has never sounded so good and I was there a week after the Obama election and the celebration was in the air. I look forward to more of that positivity. Thanks for the mention on this and nice job in coralling all these events together.
