Hometown boys the Death Set take over Pitchfork.tv this week. Live, on a rooftop, as P4k.tv is wont to do. Choice cuts here and after the jump.
And don’t forget about our old coverage, including a live recording from their show with Matt & Kim at the Lo-Fi earlier this year.

“FUCK YEA!”–both the name of the tour, and my general impression of the night.
Though The Death Set were the only band actually hailing from Baltimore, I felt the rest of the groups (excluding one) were honorary Baltimoreans for the night. Monotonix have played here often, and recently. They share the intensity, and the weirdo aesthetic of our town. Kim Schifino, of Matt and Kim, said the city was beginning to feel like home.
“Honestly, for a second, I thought we were in Brooklyn. You just keep seeing people at every show. It’s like ‘Oh, yea, it’s that person,’” Kim said (Aural States then explained the Smalltimore effect to her). Read the rest…

This intrepid writer busted his foot while at this show. Jeff the Taper nearly killed himself by a bludgeoning to the head.
But you know what? Totally worth it. Monday night, Bmore again proved its mettle.
This show was a veritable who’s who of Baltimore (and even some DC) regional booty-movers-and-floor-shakers: Emily Rabbit, Dave Nada, Cullen Stalin, Scottie B, Blaqstarr, Rye Rye, it just goes on and on. Check after the jump for full review, more pics, and an Old Haunts track.
Do NOT miss this show. This line up is going to explode Sonar from the inside out. This is not hype, this is fact. I have never been to a tame Death Set show.
Enjoy this Bonde do Role remix.

You should get your ass to this show. It is guaranteed to be ridiculous. Friday morning be damned, live for Thursday night. It will likely sell out AND be sweaty as all get-out. Be prepared for a spazz-dance workout, you wacky kids! This could be the show of the week. I highly recommend you pick up Matt and Kim’s self-titled debut here and the Death Set’s latest release Worldwidehere.
But for now, take these complimentary magical, musical pills and get pumped:
