Contest is over! Tough choice, but the winner is Meryl, because we at Aural States wish every venue could be all ages.
Guess what? Thanks to Sarah (owner of the Metro Gallery), we’ve got a pair of tickets to her awesome outdoors double-header of Beach House and Celebration at said venue on Aug 7th.
Comment here with a compelling reason or story for why you need this gorgeous outdoor show in your waning summer weeks. It really is that simple. Winner will be picked Aug 5th and notified by email (or phone if you give that).

is it just me, or are we getting way more killer contests than we used to?
because its going to be august in 2 days and my summer flew by so i need one last dose of awesomeness
Because my summer has been way complicated with work outside of B’more & yet I’m still broke! I miss the loving sweaty arms of my city & this sounds like the most loving sweaty armpit of an evening I could ever imagine.
Katrina Ford and Victoria Legrand are two of the best voices in rock today. The chance to see them outdoors and within stumbling distance of Club Chuck is thrilling. Not to mention that my brain will short circuit if Katrina and Victoria sing a duet.
I should win these tickets because I turn 21 on the 5th and I have missed several good shows at Metro Gallery for being underage (middle distance runner! wye oak!). It’s the first weekend I can go.
I should win these tickets because I need one last beautiful, humid Baltimore weekend before I make the regrettable move up to New York City. I need a little more Baltimore-lovin’ to tide me over ’til Thanksgiving break.
I want these tickets because Beach House and Celebration are two of my favorite bands EVER and to see them live together for free would make my summer. I’m a poor, poor teacher and have to save all of my money to try to make a nice record at the end of august with thrushes. As a result, I haven’t gone anywhere. Just sitting in my hot, humid house. Please, oh please, let me win these tickets so I can have a nice night out. -love, anna
i’ve always wanted a beach house. then i went to college and took out loans. then i got out of college and couldn’t pay my rent and took out another loan. now i have 2+ jobs and will be in debt until i’m 45, therefore i’m re-evaluating my wants, and trading a beach house for beach house.
Beach house is my favorite band. I play their music on my college radio station. I’ve supported them at many of their shows and I would like to win some free tickets!
Pick me! I love music! I love free things!
because I love Beach House but always seem to miss them!!
Because it’s my sixth month anniversary with my boyfriend on that night and beach house is our sex music. YOU KNOW YOU GUYS DO IT TOO. no, seriously. also he’s leaving to college in a month so i sort of want to make this one special.
