Could not agree with you more about Mimicking Birds and the looong wait until the show started. But, all was forgotten once they opened with Spitting Venom and those drums kicked in. Incredible. Best Show I’ve ever seen!!!

I actually enjoyed Mimicking Birds. I thought they resembled Modest Mouse five years ago, before the big stuff… I think they have a unique sound and I’m excited to have been exposed. Music critics are jokes.

I was so happy when they played “3rd Planet.” I was sure they wouldn’t after Brock’s rant. They were really great, very tight musically, I was surprised at how good of a “unit” they are. Pretty good setlist too, although I would’ve rather had D.C.’s or Philly’s (they got “Night on the Sun” AND “Jesus Christ Was an Only Child!”).
